Understanding the Difference
We offer training through two (2) different organizations, the American Heart Association (AHA) and the American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI). It is assumed most people are familiar with AHA. You may learn more about ASHI by clicking the link here.

Basic First Aid/CPR/AED
This class will teach critical skills that are necessary to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. It uses video-based and hands-on methods to cover; first aid, choking relief in adults, children, and infants. This course will also show you what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants.

Course Content
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Students learn how to recognize a life-threatening emergency, how to provide basic life support and what to do in case of an airway obstruction or choking. ASHI's Basic Life Support, BLS course for Healthcare Providers and Professional Rescuers has been approved for training for Emergency Medical Services personnel and is accepted by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).
Who Should Take This Course?
Individuals in the healthcare or professional rescuer field that are required to have professional-level basic life support training.
Course Content
Basic First Aid
Students learn duties and responsibilities fo first aid rescuers; first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke; and skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings. This course teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrives.
Who Should Take This Course?
This course is for individuals who are not healthcare providers or professional rescuers but desire, or are required, to be certified.
Course Content
Advanced First Aid
This is an American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) course. This course is designed for an individual who needs or desires more first aid training than Basic First Aid, but not to the level of Emergency Medical Response. Perfect for corporate emergency response teams, this 17-21 hour course presents many of the most common illnesses and injuries responders are likely to encounter.
** Prerequisite: Must have current, valid professional-level Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. May be incorporated/conducted in conjunction with this program as needed **
Who Should Take This Course?
This Advanced First Aid training course is designed for non-EMS responders including government, corporate, industry, lifeguards, security personnel, law enforcement, corrections personnel, and other individuals who are not EMS or healthcare providers, but desire or require this certification.
Course Content
Wilderness First Aid
This is an American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) course. Being in the wilderness is an entirely different environment than being in populated urban or suburban environments. This class will teach first aid providers how to be prepared to respond in a remote outdoor setting, being faced with limited resources, longer times to care for someone, and making decisions about when and how fast to evacuate and ill or injured person. This comprehensive 16 hours (approx.) wilderness first aid course meets or exceeds the Boy Scouts of America Wilderness First Aid Curriculum and Doctrine Guidelines, 2017 Edition.
** Prerequisite: Adult CPR/AED **
Course Content
CPR/AED
This CPR/AED course is for laypeople, and is perfect to learn CPR and defibrillation for any setting. This program will prepare individuals to respond to sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) and choking incidents. This course conforms to the 2015 AHA Guidelines Update for CPR and ECC.

Bloodborne Pathogens
The Bloodborne Pathogens program will provide students with the knowledge and understanding of what Bloodborne pathogens are and how risks of exposure can be reduced for themselves and other. This course assists in satisfying the training requirements of the U.S. Department of Labor, OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Standard (29 CFR 1910.1030).
Who Should Take This Course?
The Bloodborne Pathogens course is ideal for any idividual or employee who has a reasonable anticipation of contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials as a result of performing designated job duties.

Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED
The Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course provides information on how to respond to medical emergencies involving children and infants. This versatile program is based upon the 2015 CPR and First Aid Guidelines, Caring for Our Children, 3rd Ed; and other evidence-based treatment recommendations.

This program is an ideal training solution for schools, child care providers, youth sports coaches, and others who are required to learn how to respond to medical emergencies involving children and infants:

Course Contents
Child and Babysitting Safety (CABS)
This is an American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) Course. Taking this course gives teenagers and young adults everything they need to know for safe and successful babysitting. From getting started with their business, to dealing with parents and children, to key safety, caregiving, and first aid tips. Keeping in-touch and mindful of the intended audience, the CABS guide has a magazine format and vlogger-style video to make learning fun.
** Prerequisite: NONE, however First Aid/CPR/AED certification is strongly recommended **
Who Should Take This Course?
Teens and young adults interested in a babysitting business, or who have responsibility for younger family members.
